Facts:
On June 25 1950, and estimated 135,000 North Korean People's Army (NKPA) troops, supported by more than 150 tanks and artillery,cross the border and attack the republic of Korea.

Within days, the United Nations adopts a resolution calling for member nations to aid South Korea.

On the 30 June 1950, the U.S. commits ground forces to enforce the U.N. resolution.


On 27 September, Seoul falls to U.S. forces.
On 21 November, U.S. forces reach the Yalu River, which separates China from North Korea.

On 22 November, the U.S. deploys its first helicopter unit to Korea.

On 27 November, the Chinese Army attacks U.S. forces in North Korea.

On 1 April 1951, MacArthur was relieved of command and replaced by Ridgeway.
